Summary:
I was owning a CD50 from Atoll and was kind of happy with it untill I decided to upgrade my speakers. I happened to listen to the CD80 and was completely BLOWN away by the difference.

If you are considering buying a player in this price range, you should listen to Atoll players. But SKIP THE CD50 AND GO STRAIGHT TO THE CD80. The 200 extra $ are DEFINITELY there.

I use it with an Audioanalyse PA90 amp, JM Reynaud Evolution3 speakers, Cardas Audio Quadlink 5 interconnect and Silver Line Eagle Cable

Strengths:
Sharp, uncoloured yet detailed sound from bass to high, good response

Weaknesses:
Cheap limited remote, would not mind programming capability
