Strength:

fresh look, crisp sound GOOD DEAL! thanks Chat

Weakness:

sensitive voice match knob

i bought this center channel for $75.00 off a friend of mine, couldn't be happier, although i don't have other infinity speakers to match. i am using boston acoustics A-100 in the front, klipsch 1.5 in the rear and the NHT SA-3 subwoofer, i want the klipsch 2.5 in the front because i feel i can voice match that better w/ my klipsch than the BA's

Strength:

Clear rich sound, constructed well for the most part

Weakness:

too hard to connect wires to.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the purchase of this product. Before hand, we were using my friend's JBL center. My infinity CC-2 made a world of difference when we replaced the JBL. The voices were crisps and the bullets sounded fantastic. It did a well job at reproducing other sounds and I was impressed on how well it did when there were multiple sound ranges on the screen at one time. Plus I was able to match the sound perfectly with my RS-3 so everything sounds nice. If you have the extra cash splurge and get a good CC. I recommend this one for any college movie enthusiast.

Strength:

Excellent reproduction

Weakness:

directional

Sounds excellent, but proper vertical orientation is important (very directional - be sure to use the little stand that comes with it...)

Strength:

Rich, deep, clear sound, voice matching, quality consruction

Weakness:

not sure yet

i upgraded to the CC-2 from the CC-1 which i thought was quite a good speaker for it's size. the main differance i have found is that the CC-2 sound is much larger, and more expansive. it retains the same rich clarity of the CC-1 while opening up the sound for a bigger feel. after some experimenting with the tone control the sound is impressive.

setting the tone control is very subjective and even though i am using Infinity RS 2's for my mains i had to adjust the control, two marks toward the brighter sound, before it all seemed to come together.
i'm very happy with this speaker and contrary to what some people think, i really love the way it looks. (very modern) not like having a big box on your TV.
Terrific Speaker

Strength:

Unobtrusive
Clear, crisp sound

Weakness:

Front grille cover does not stay on!

This is a good addition to my system and is well matched to the other Infinity speakers I have. Sound is sharp, clear and precise.

Sometimes the sound is a bit loud and can be difficult to set properly with the Voice Matching knob as well as the center volume control on my preamp.

Excellent shielding does not affect the TV at all which is of course a good thing.

This speaker is exactly what I have come to expect from Infinity. It is the clearest, truest reproduction of center channel voices and sounds I have ever heard. This think is better than my local movie theater.
I got mine from www.buyingedge.com for $244 (including tax and shipping), plus they now have a $50 rebate on anything you buy there, so the final cost will actually be below $200 for a speaker worth $400.

I am powering it with on a Sony STR-DE835, and my front channel speakers are Infinity Reference 5's. Wow.

Strength:

Excellent tonal reproduction. Puts my old center channel speaker to shame. Dialog really steps out now, I didn't know what I was missing. Even the wife asked "Why do the movies sound so good now"?

Weakness:

My old center channel speaker was smaller so it fit on top of my large screen projection TV. No luck here, I've had to put this monster on the floor infront of the TV. But I'm not going to complain due to the improvement in sound.

Read the reviews here and selected this as a possible replacement speaker for the 153. I was still looking around and checking prices on other makes and models. When I saw Crutchfield had this on sale for $199, my mind was made up. Had it in two days. The rear panel adjustment provided to match the rest of your system is a nice feature. At this price, this is a great value in a center channel speaker.

Strength:

Great crisp sounds to match my Infinity RS2 speakers.

Weakness:

Hard to tune it just right with Voice Matching control.

I bought this speaker to match my current setup (Infinity RS2 for mains, Infinity RS1 for surrounds, Infinity BU120 subwoofer) and I have to say, it was definitely a wise purchase. If you have a complete Inifinity setup this is the perfect addition. The voice matching is sort of a pain to get just right, but after a little tweaking I had the perfect wall of sound coming from all of the speakers in the front. It was a tad bit pricey, but once you hear the quality coming from the front of your room you'll definitely know it was money well spent! Infinity has yet to disappoint me!

Strength:

Decent bang for the buck

Weakness:

Poor sound, inability to handle transients

The CC2 wasnt a bad little speaker, it was the first center channel I bought thinking it would be a good match for the JBL P-40's I was currently using. The sound quality was just not there, voices were tinny and and during loud passages the speaker had a tendency to break up, when I went for the upgrade to the CC3 I also auditioned a Polk CS 450...None of the infinitys held a candle to it. My suggestion to anyone looking for a center channel would be to only consider this speaker if you are using Infinity's (for the voice matching) otherwise there are better products out there for the money.
