Strength:

Digital Amp works great Low noise floor CD has tight bass and great soundstageing MP3 does sound better with "Re-mastering"

Weakness:

Vocals sounds slightly lean - not as "rich" as a good system

Note: Price paid in Canadian, tax included. Good sounding player for CD playback. The new generation of digital amplifer does mark an improvement - no sound distortion right up to maximum volumn level. I am impressed by the low noise floor from this player - listerning to Diana Krall and the soundstage is distinct and sharp, not what I would expect from a portable CD player. MP3 playback is excellent. The Re-mastering function does seem to work, taking some of the harsh "edge" off the treble usually heard in MP3 files. I use good headphones with this player - Sennheiser HD495 silvers - and the overall sound quality comes very close to my home system. To sum up, I am pleasently surprised by the quality of this player, espically considering the price, which I think is quite cheap compared to top of the line Sony models, or even many mp3 players.
