Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $110.00 from e-bay auction

Summary:
Design similar to the Optilink 1 & 2. Sound quality is spectacular for toslink product. Audiophile level fiber optic cable. Extremely detailled in sound reproduction. I cannot find a difference between the VSD-2 Digital coax cable and the Optilink-4. Purchased from the Stereo Trading Outlet in PA as part of an e-bay action. Currently selling at 50% for $175 on online website. This is a must product or the digital enthusiast who appreciates interference free signals that digital coax cannot provide.

Strengths:
Steel cladding around optic. Neutral jacket (not braided like Optilink-1)

Weaknesses:
Fragille - fused silica (glass)

Similar Products Used:
Yamaha toslink patch cord (included in CDR-D651) Accoustics Research

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
I''ve always been one of those audiophiles stuck between fiberptic or coaxial digital. I use the Fiberoptics with my MD recorder/player because thats what the manufacture wants used with that individual product. I saved the coaxial for my dvd player. I figure the manufacture did all the testing on deciding what type of cable works best with there product. The MD players sound instantly shined it all of the sudden became clearer, brighter, and had a better bass response. the nice thing about fiberoptic is that there''s no burn in period. audioquest optilink 4 far exceeded the performance of the other fiberoptic cables I''ve used, (non of the other ones made a difference in sound quality. they just looked different).

Strengths:
Solid connectors, very flexible, bold style State of the art materials. Immune to electrical noise.

Weaknesses:
You can never tell if the fibers have been damaged or not. Sligthly Over priced.

Similar Products Used:
generic, monster cable, and IXOS fiberoptic cables

Magnepan Magneplanar MG 1.6 User Review

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
