Price Paid:  $1217.00 from The Audible Difference

Summary:
When I began investigating digital cables, I thought
there would be little, if any, sonic differences between
them. However, after auditioning various models, my
assumption was thrown out the window. The Transparent
Audio Reference AES/EBU 110 Ohm Digital Link ended-up being
the one that outshone the rest. Using it in conjunction
with a reference quality system produces magnificent
results. Comparing it to more modestly priced digital
interconnects, the sound is more realistic and
encompassing.

Music, whether pop, classical, or jazz, when played
through the Reference Link, is both natural, lyrical, and
dynamic. Imaging is holographic, providing a wonderful
feeling of tranparency and presence. Resolution is also
outstanding revealing subtle details: like the breath and
key sounds from a saxophone, or the intricate sounds of
the key action of a piano.

While the cost is high, one should consider the purchase
of a digital cable to be an integral component of a high
quality digital system. I recommend trying several to
convince yourself.

System:
Mark Levinson No. 32 Preamp
Mark Levinson No. 33 Amps
Mark Levinson No. 31.5 CD Transport
Mark Levinson No. 30.6 D/A Processor
Revel Ultima Gem Left and Right Speakers
Revel Ultima Sub-15/LE-1 Subwoofer with amp
Transparent Reference XL Interconnects
Transparent Reference Bi-cable Speaker Cables
Transparent Reference AES/EBU Digital Link

Strengths:
Breathtaking detail, imaging, and depth.

Weaknesses:
High Price
