Review 1 of 5

Price Paid:  $2800.00 from LotusHifi

Summary:
First of all, this is a review of Ultra Bicable not Ultra single or biwire. As I wrote it for the Ultra XLR interconnectors review, I decided to go for Ultra Bicable for performance/price and feasibility of using with upgraded components for the rest of my system in future. It is better than Super in all aspects, actually better than regular Ultra biwire. Bicable consists two seperate Ultra cables sharing the same jacket and enables the speakers directly seeing the signal from the power amp. Although this is a little bit harder solution for power amp since it will deliver more current, it is better for controlling the lower frequencies and dynamics. For Rotel RB-1090 my power amp, it is not even a question! This cable is totally transparent and neutral, highly recommended, especially with powerful solid state amps and power demanding biwirable speakers. System: Audio Aero Capitol 24/192 CD processor/preamp directly connected to power amp Rotel RB-1090 power amp B&W Nautilus 803 speakers Transparent Ultra XLR, Ultra Bicable

Strengths:
neutral, soundstage and dynamics are better than Musiclink Super. Actually it is a Bicable and better than regular Ultra Biwire in dynamics and bass.

Weaknesses:
Price, big network boxes

Similar Products Used:
Transparent Super biwire, Ultra biwire, MIT Terminator

Review 3 of 5

Price Paid:  $300.00 from used - eBay USA

Summary:

Strengths:
merveilleux...

Weaknesses:
aucun..., si le prix ?

Review 5 of 5

Summary:
In the past I've found interconnects to make more difference than speaker wires. These were an exception. I used them to connect an Accuphase A50 to a Martin Logan Prodigy.

Immediately I was taken aback by an increased sense of listening to live music as opposed to a good stereo. Even after experienceing a similar incremental improvement after the insertion of the MusicLink Ultra XLR my reaction was still, "Can this be real". I didn't perceive any obvious frequency response changes.

One Reviewer on the transparent web site warned not to try these cables unless you could afford them since the experience would forever spoil you. Although I've questioned my sanity, I love these cables.

Strengths:
More dynamic shading, cleaner bass, smoother midrange, resonant richness

Weaknesses:
Expensive!!!

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
