Peut-être un peu cher (?..) Quoique au vu de la qualité apportée... Ah si ! mets en évidence tous les défauts, du système audio et des enregistrements !

J'ai essayé, pendant plusieurs années, beaucoup de câbles de grande marque (MIT, Van Del Hul, Siltek, Audioquest ...) pour faire ressortir la quintessence mes Magnepan MG-IIIa. Un jour, j'ai essayé une paire de Transparent Audio "MusicWave Plus". Tout est devenu splendide ! Depuis je l'ai remplacée pour une paire de Transparent Audio "MusicWave Super" et je suis devenu un audiophile heureux (OUI ça existe des basses douces et profondes sur des Magnepan même sans subwoofer). Donc n'hésitez pas malgré le prix en occasion, c'est moins cher que de racheter un pré-amplificateur à tubes, de changer ses enceintes ou d'acheter un subwoofer de qualité ! Mon système principal : CD Sphinx "Myth 9", pré-ampli Audio Research "LS8-MKII", ampli Mark Levinson "ML9", enceintes Magnepan "MG-IIIA", 2 casques STAX "Lambda Pro/Pro Classic", câbles Transparent Audio "MusicLink Ultra" et "MusicLink Super XL"(modulation), "MusicWave Super" (HP) et PowerLink Super/Plus (alimentation).

extended low end, very good sound stage, brings live to sound and very neutral and not too bright

The look of the wire is very impressive and the sound is just as good as how it looks.

The first impression of the speaker cable was "WOW!"
I never thought the music could sound so good compared
to my original monster cable.
I tried different type of music on my system with this
set of speaker wire and I think it's the best investiment
I ever spend to improve my system.
The eric clapton guitar sounds so lively.
Madonna's voice also sound great on the system.
Kenny G's saxaphone also sound very sweet with this wire.
I also dig up some old Jazz CD and the drum sounds like it's in my living room. I also tried the new age collection and it also sound very impressive.
The only thing that doesn't sound impressive is the symphony and the piano instruments. These require a much
better speaker and better pre-amp. That's what I was looking forward to upgrade. Definitely a 5-star for its class.

I don't own this cable, but I have auditioned it extensively. It is the first cable in the Transparent line that I like for speaker cable. I won't go into details because it was pretty much said by David and Al in the other reviews for this product. It is a big improvement over Plus and if you are going to spend money on cable at all, it is highly recommended that you compare this cable to the Plus and any other cable in this price range. I've listened to the other cables from Transparent and this level is definitely the star in their line for value and performance. One word of advice. If you have bi wireable speakers and you want to use the Transparent jumpers or any other jumpers for that matter. Don't! I found that I got better results out of another bi wire cable (Discovery 123) than using Transparent's single cable and jumping it. This isn't Transparents fault because I found this to be true with all the single cables that I tried to use jumpers with on my speakers (Proac Tablette 50 Sigs). I have the other cable because I couldn't quite afford the Super in the bi wire version.

These are awesome!! If the retail price is high, try picking some up second hand. Very involving and will bring out details that you've never heard before. Plus will help the bass response of your speakers. I have these running to all 3 of my front speakers in my home theater system and they work just as well for theater as they do for music. If you can find a way, get them!

Solid, well defined midbass, uncongested midrange, good imaging, well suited to overly bright systems

The treble is a little dry and reticent

I had Transparent Super cable and interconnects in my system for over a year, having upgraded from Wireworld Polaris cable and MIT 350 plus interconnects. I found that the Transparent Super added a natural weight and balance to music without bloating the bass or fogging the midrange. The two best attributes of Super is a fast, well defined mid-bass and an uncongested midrange that has lots of depth and portrays the power of music very well. While the treble never gets tizzy or exacerbates bright recordings I sometimes found the treble dry and to lack ultimate extension. For example symbals lack some sheen and air. I have since upgraded to Ultra cable and interconnects. The Ultra provides more extension at the frequency extremes (especially the treble), has a more open sound, and the soundstage is larger with more depth and layering. I use Transparent jumpers and found that the jumpers take an enormous amount of time to burn in. Until they burn in the sound is muted and lacks transparency.

I haven't auditioned many other 1200$ cables but if you are looking for a musically involving and natural sounding cable give the Super an audition.

Detail, Clearer hights smoother mids and lower tighter bass and looks

At first when I replaced my AudioQust with MIT's I've noticed a huge improvement but then I've replaced MIT with Nordost and it seemd like Nordost had more detail but as still something was missing and as soon as I've tried Transparent that solved my problems. They are sounded so naturaled and much more detailed than any other cables I've listened to, the sound is very transparent and they look great too.

I guess someone put this post up to get input on a potential purchase. I will caveat this review by saying that I have the SuperBi version of this cable, which has bi-wire termination at the speaker end.
The cable was an upgrade from Music Wave Plus (not biwire), so my comparative comments should be taken with even more grains of salt. The related equipment (at the time) was an Acurus A250 power amp and Epos ES22 speakers.

Although this will sound like trite audiophilespeak, upgrading to this fairly expensive cable allowed me to hear things in music that I had not heard before. One of my reference discs is the Atlanta recording of Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man (Telarc). With the SuperBi, the opening gong had more weight and depth than I had ever heard -- and its decay was audible for a much longer period of time than with the Plus speakers.

My wife, who is definitely not an audiofreak, agreed that the Super Bi allowed more of the music to get through. And I think her opinion is the true voice of reason in all matters audio.

To sum up, if you have the beans to not blink at the price, give these cables a listen. I say this only because the Supers cost around $2k -- and it's folly to make cables too much a percentage of your overall budget. That said, they're the best I've heard in my system -- although I am considering switching to UltraBi (truly ridiculous price) in the future. Enjoy!

I also upgraded from MusicLink Plus (2 runs of it for true bi-cabling). I opted for the Super bi-cable and have found that it truly is a BIG upgrade over the LinkPlus. It opened up the staging, tightened the focus, bigger tighter bass, smoother sweeter highs. Guess you can tell I like it ?? It really works well with my Krell KSA-200S driving LOGAN Aerius i's seemingly giving the baby logans new strengths I didn't think them capable of. It may seem odd pairing speakers with a similarly priced set of cables, but if you follow the "Transparent" ideology, you have to consider your cables as another component. I agree.. if you don't wire it up right, it won't matter how good your system or speakers are.. it just won't come together. I also recommend their power cords... made a huge difference to the associated components.

I've never been so audio-fanatical to even TRY listening for differences in audio cables. I figured it was all hoo-ha. Until I heard an A/B demo of Cable Talk bi-wire cable and the MusicWave (A$649 for 3.5mtr pair). The difference was astounding. Much better definition of imaging, bass, treble - everything. Sound stage was well defined (excellent demo for this is The Corrs Unplugged).

The system was a Rega Planet CD player driving a Rega Mira amp, driving Castle Severn 2 speakers.

But for my money, I would buy the MusicLink interconnects and stick with my $6/metre Neotech monster-cable-clone. The difference with the interconnect upgrade (b-2-b with Tara Labs) was much more interesting!
