No noticeable performance gains for the price. Customer service is horrible.

I have tried a variety of the mid to high end cables and I decided I’d give these a try. I purchased these, hooked them up and listened for several months to determine if there was any great difference in performance to justify the cost. I listened to every type of music I had, as well as DVD movies for the dynamic highs and lows. The bottom line: I didn’t hear any noticeable differences compared to other cables I’ve used.

Later I called Tara Labs to ask about the properties of their cables. I was unpleasantly surprised at what I found. Their so called customer service is The_Worst_On_The_Planet. They are incompetent, disrespectful and they just plain don’t give a damn. You would expect this company to be appreciative of their customers. Instead they just don’t give a damn.

I have to say these cables are very nice.The price I paid is nothing to what these cables are really worth,andI hav eused Monster Z series cable(junk) Audioquest type 6(very nice) Transparent(expiensive as hell). None sound as smooth,tight,clear,and the speakers diseper in the room

Smooth and refined presentation

None except for looks perhaps... but who cares anyway once you are engaged with it's soulful, foot-tapping grooves...

What really caught me in my seat was the flowing smoothness that this cable has. Never fatiguing at all with definitely better defined bass than those AQ cables produced. Details are really well-preserved, never adding harshness nor grain to treble and mid-treble. Vocals are thick tube-like even on transistors, bass deep but controlled never overemphasizing. Overall a must buy for mid-hi set-up perhaps due to it's triangular core design???...

Smooth and charming

There are better cables, but these are pretty nice and have a quality of their own

These TARA Labs bi-wired are fine cables in their own 'smaller scale’ quality; tubelike closed intimate (but not narrow!) soundstage, sort of 'wool-like' pleasant bass. They have their own pleasantly modest, friendly but good character definitely, rather smooth and round, more soft than strong. Now my system is more balanced than it used to be, I’ve recently switched to JPS Labs Superconductor+ speaker cables, these JPS Labs’ are much more ‘high-end’; stronger and more open soundstage and better bass definition. Still smooth though. A big step forward also, while what I left from was not bad at all and had its own distinct and very pleasant quality. Good cables these TARA’s and I’ve owned and used them with joy. If you come across these, try them. They are most charming.

not shure about bi-wiring. Think it's best when you bi-amp. Can't realy see the advantage, if you use normal amp.

I wanted to try be-wiring with my great PSB Silver'i, and came over theese cables. My old cables where MIT terminator 5, and I could realy hear the difference. Don't know if the be-wiring have something to do with it, but the Prime cables realy made my system sound bether. I belive that good cables transfers the signal cleaner, and make the sound more real. You hear every instrument in detail. I have tried a lot of cables, and know that a cable will not make magic on your system. I belive that you can expect even more if you biamp with them. I have always wondered what you get from a company that makes 100 different models, and buy something in the middle. I would say that this is one of the most expensive Tara-labs cables, therefore you get most of their technologi, and that's what I go for. The same with my great speakers. PSB Gold'i is the only model over my Silver'i therefore I get the most of PSB's technology. I use prime 500 with my PSB C5 center speaker, and I'm very happy with my sound at the moment =) Sorry for my bad English

Transparency, Speed, Detail of Bass

Bang for the buck, one of the very finest cables out there.
My old tara labs prism bi-wire cables were a solid cable, but after upgrading to this cable, I immediately noticed an increase in the speed and detail of the lower frequency spectrum. The bass was much tighter and bass drums were highly articulate. The mids and highs were similiar in presentation to the prism bi-wire cables however. In the past I had old Best Buy Monster cables and those are a joke. Anyone that tries to sell you Monster of any flavor for a "high end" stereo system doesn't know what their talking about. They lack the significant detail and "air" between the instruments that the Tara labs presents and basically drain any system that is valued at over $1000. The only cable that I tried in my system that were on the same level of quality were the Cardas Cross. Cardas makes a very solid cable, but honestly couldn't tell any difference between the Cross and this RSC prime 1000. The Cross is also almost $700 more for the equivalent 10 foot pair. For these reasons, Tara Labs warrant 5 stars for both value and quality.

Clarity, Focus, detail

These cables sound fabulous in a system that is perhaps a bit strident or forward. Laid back and relaxed sounding, the imaging and focus are impressive. I use my 12ft pair with Totem Model 1's (bi-wired) and a MacCormack DNA 1.0. The Totems tend to be a bit forward sounding and these cables even them out a tad. When I purchased the Totem/Tara combo I tried several other high/mid end speaker cables that I can't recall now. The Tara cables had the smoothest sound right out of the box. The cables required 90+ hours of break-in, after that time they opened up and sounded a bit more relaxed.

These are good wires but there are better for less $$$. I purchased these on recommendation from a high end audio store I chose after much consideration. I consider them to be a quality, knowledgeable source. After I burned the wires in for about 70 hrs., the sound was still extremely veiled at the upper range and slightly boomy at the mid range (note equipment below). I was frustrated needless to say.
I investigated Audioreview.com for other opinions on these and other wires. I found Analysis Plus. I found Oliver at Delve Audio. I found audio heaven in the Analysis Plus Oval 12's. These wires BLOW AWAY the Tara's and likely anything else in this price range or ranges 2,3,4 times more $$$. The detail and soundstage are incredible.
In summary, don't consider the Tara's. Do yourself a big favor and get the AP Oval 12 (for the same or less money). You'll thank yourself, me and Analysis Plus.

I purchased these cables to connect my Denon AVR-2600 receiver to my pair of PSB Stratus Silver speakers. Before I switched cables, I almost sold my pair of speakers since I was so disapointed in the sound output, but I'm very glad I changed the cables instead! At first, I was skeptical a cable would make such a difference, but the difference was stunning and immediately noticeable. The sound seemed to come alive, and I started to hear things I had never heard before with my old cables. Everything sounds so much better, the bass is quick and tight, and the soundstage has dramatically improved. My pair of cables has the bananas on both extremeties. The cables are practically the size of a garden hose! A great purchase despite the expensive price tag.

This is my 1st impression of this cable.
Simply put, I was immediately attracted to the fluidity and smoothness of the music that flowed through my speakers. I was astonished! The cables are brand new! Not even run in yet.

Bass detail was great and supple. Very gentle and caressing.
Would be a long time before I upgrade my cables again!
