Price Paid:  $6500.00 from audio advisor

Summary:
All i got to say do not use these cables on somewhat bright gear,i broke them in on my computer for 70 hours and another 40 on my system so there are already broken in the top end is way to bright and extended on my speakers the midrange dull and the bass a little muddled,i dont have a bright system but its not dull eitherim using it on my denon 2900 cd,dvd player with a creek 5350se amp, b&w 703 speakers, kimber kable 1010 interconnects,8tc speaker cables you could be the way it matches with my system or my wires, but i still think there better suited for much softer gear or tube gear.

Strengths:
clean highs, sharper focus less distortion

Weaknesses:
way to bright in the highs, less open midrange, somewhat muddled bass.

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $159.00 from Audio Advisor

Summary:
The Prelude and all PS Audio X-stream cables are very good and are a great value at their retail price. Recently audio advisor has been selling PS Audio cables at less than half price. Ordinarily, the Prelude is the best value, but at $129 for a 2 meter Plus you can't go wrong.
All PS Audio cables have the same terminations. Multiple gauges of wire are used. The Prelude is 10 gauge and the Plus 8 Gauge. Wires are both hot and cold soldiered(pressure fused) to the plugs. Cables are well shielded.
I currently own four PS Audio cables; Two Preludes, one Plus, and one Power Punch. This review is about the Prelude, but the Plus is generally more of the same.
So - How do they sound. Mostly the Prelude is very dynamic and lively. All PS Audio cables definitely have more of a "power punch" than almost all competing products. I attribute this to their size, better soldiering, and nickel plated plugs. The Plus is a little smoother. Cleans out the bass a bit but notably the upper treble as well. Definitely a cure for a dull or hazy system. Particularly well matched to amplifiers. Can overwhelm some front end devices, destroying the texture of the music. Still worth trying on a pre-amp. Not as "neutral" a some cables, and not quite as likely to unlock detail as say, an expensive Cardas cable.
PS Audio has invested much more money than most competitors on their power cable production and it shows.
I use the Plus to feed an ultimate outlet power conditioner and connect two amplifiers to the conditioner via Prelude cables. Sound is a little cleaner with the conditioner but the amps sound good plugged into the wall with Preludes.
Definitely not a dull cable, and much more dynamic than most. At the current discounted price I would buy a Plus, which has a slightly more refined sound with amps.

Strengths:
Dynamic, clean sounding, lively - fairly active power delivery

Weaknesses:
Not quite neutral (even though many "neutral" cables are dull)

Similar Products Used:
Cardas, Cobalt Cable

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $99.00 from AudioAdviser

Summary:
This is just beautiful. It made an immediate difference. I can't wait for it to break-in. The voice are just scary. The highs just floats out front, and the bass is way down there in the bottom of the octave. Given that my system was already pretty good, but can one cord make this much difference? I guess it can, because it did. Now I want to modify my Amp so that it can accept the XStream Plus or Statement power cord. These cords suck all the performance out of you equipment! Equipment: Onkyo TX DS787 AV reciever(in two channel mode it is used as a passive pre-amp)(on movies, it powers the center and surrounds). Harman Kardon Signature 1.5 power amp (for two channel) Philips DVD 963SA SACD player (with the PS Audio Prelude power cord) NHT 2.5i's Main Speakers JBL Studio Series S26 surrounds JBL Studio Series S-center NHT SubOne subwoofer Monster Cable HTS 2000 line conditioner Monster Cable Reference interconnects Monster Cable Z2 Reference speaker cable

Strengths:
Overbuilt Very open Highs are highs and lows are low Beautiful to look at( I find myself staring at the cord as the music is playing)

Weaknesses:
I'll have to get back with you on this one. I don't see any.
