Review 1 of 12

Price Paid:  $200.00 from Ultimate

Summary:
Assembled my ultimate bookshelf system consisting of Klispsh RB-75 frt, RB-25 side, RC-25 center. Note: stickers on speakers claim; internally wired with bandwith balanced Monster cable. I used 15 ft Z-2 bi-wired on RB-25 on ceiling corner mounts. I then proceeded to build my own, bulkier and less attractive bi-wires out of Monster wire stock. The salesman was very cooperative, and was interested in hearing the difference himself. I preferred the Z2 bi-wired RB-75 to the straight run flagship Kef floorstanders! (base not withstanding) Bi-wiring smooths and defines the midrange, brings even greater clarity to the highs, drums are deeper, they hit then stop..very impressive and tight base for 8 in woofer. I use Denon AVR 1604, 6.1, 75w rms per ch. reciever. Klipsch RW-12 sub with Monster sub cable. Optical Monster linked Sony SACD player with full anolog interconnects from AR. I never opened the throttle fully, but at 8/10ths it rocks the walls...what's absolutely great..no percievable distortion!

Strengths:
Klipsch are made to be bi-wired !! Monster bi-wire is the logical choice. Try it, you'll love it.

Weaknesses:
Big cables are very noticable, but for a gearhead like me..I like the appearance.

Similar Products Used:
Acoustic Research straight run. Monster HTS 2000 mkII power center. Monster sub cable. Monster braided and spade gold plated clips.

Review 3 of 12

Price Paid:  $200.00 from A&B Sound

Summary:
I had LinnK400 bi wire hanging from my Totem Rainmakers. A friend of mine has a set of Linn speakers, so i sold him the K400 and purchased the Z2 biwires. I must say there is a definate improvement. Detail is better and soundstage defies my room! I had heard that Linn cable is only good for Linn speakers....perhaps this is true, because the monster puts it to shame! Apparently the cables will "warm up" somewhat upon usage, but I cant imagine them sounding any better. Some will say that monster is more of a marketing company, but I have Z series interconnect and now the bi-wires, and I must say I am pleased. I have a Rega planet2000 as a source, the Rainamkers, Yamaha RXV1500, and a Minivee sub from Velodyne. I want to move into a pre/power system, but al in good time. Anyway thumbs up for monster! Highly recommended.

Strengths:
Superb detail and soundstage.

Weaknesses:
None whatsoever.

Review 5 of 12

Price Paid:  $270.00 from Good Guys

Summary:
Z2 Bi-Wire (15ft/pr) use on Infinity Crescendo 3009,Hafler P4000, Parasound P/HP 850 Pre, Monster Interconnects. Super Audio, Vinyl, and 16/44 CD''s though a Digital Audio Denmark DAAD Converter. Well Im a muscian so I really listen for the life-like characteristics of musical insreuments. Played Classical Piano for over 30 years, as well as saxaphone and clarinet. Equally trained in Classical and Jazz Music. First off, the cable is outsatnding as I expected and a big improvement over the 10AWG Zip cable I had before. I would say Bi Wire helps alot (depending on equipment and room) I heard a greater separation of frequency, broader sound stage, more musical presence, detail and mostly overall smoother operation. A big enough difference to feel good I payed nearly $300 for these puppies. The Super Audio Earth Wind and Fire Gratitude sounded out of this world. I''ve been listening to this recording since I was 8 years old. The cables brought out all the above-mentioned characteristics plus a fuller, wieghtier sound overall. I also played Diane Krall''s the look of love (I''m a Claus Ogermann Man) Beautiful voice and orchestration. The voice was deifintly more prominent but less strained. The soundstage, again, is fuller because the cable carried more signal. Lastly San Fransicso Symphony Direct Super Audio recording of Mahler 6th with Michale Tilson Thomas. Wow! Super audio is scarey good enough already. But these recordings where the signals never sees the light of PCM are frieghtening. As far as I know, you have to go to the Sf Symphony performance to buy it at the concert. As in Vinyl, Super Audio''s treatment of percussion and Brass is outstanding. This stuff is slap-yo mama good! The cables really brought out the orchestration, instrumentation, reocrding and the instrumentation. Sony has an agreement to come in and record Mahler''s Symphonies 1-10 with SF Symphony over the next 5 years. THe point is that the cables help bring out all these to your systems maximum capabilities. I cant find the words for it but it was so good it made me wanna cuss with excitement. Pure music! I do recommend the Z2''s and biwiring. I would have to hear these other hi-end thousand dollar cables to justify getting them (for me anyway). Im very happy. I know theres better out there on paper but when you look at cost/performance ratio, I dont think I could do better.

Strengths:
BEtter separation, detail, and stage placement. Fuller heavier wieghtier, tighter bass, more ambience (given the recording enviromnet was going for that) more resonance and inner tone from the inside out (the trademark of a good musician) For $300, Its a definite high performance to price ratio.

Weaknesses:
None I can hear. Just let the music be your judge.

Similar Products Used:
All other monster connects. FOr the money monster is it.
