Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $1300.00 from Alphacore

Summary:
I decided to upgrade interconnect cables to accompany recent component upgrades. As I had read favourable reviews of Goertz products, I decided to try them out. The Sapphire line was recommended as I require a run of 6 m between the pre/pro and amp. I also tried the TQ2, both in silver and copper. Although the TQ2 silver was 'in the ballpark,' the copper was 'in the parking lot.' If I hadn't first heard the Sapphire, I might have considered the TQ2 silver to be my cable of choice. While carefully comparing the TQ2 to the Sapphire, though, there was quite a definite difference in soundstage, clarity, and depth. The Sapphire is superior in all areas. Speakers become invisible, completely invisible. Although both cables are silver, it seems that more silver is better! The Sapphire cables have twice the silver content of the TQ2s.

It should be noted that the Sapphire cables are not bright. They are clear, but not bright. After listening to them for a while, you realize that the silver is letting you hear what the copper was omitting. Music becomes alive and vibrant, not muffled and two dimensional. These cables are not cheap, but are definitely worth the price.

My system components include -
Anthem D1 pre/pro
Anthem P2 amp
Arcam CD36 CD player
Magneplanar MG3.6 speakers

Strengths:
Superior soundstage, clarith and depth of sound. (While sitting, you sometimes find yourself looking around the speakers, trying to see the person who is singing or playing an instrument in that area of the stage.)

Weaknesses:
Being very picky......be careful when running them across the floor and around corners. As they are flat, they cannot be bent in all directions.

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
I have these hooked up btwn all my Krell components. Not overly bright like people say. There is real science behind these cables. Contemplated on getting Cardas Golden Cross but could not justify the 4x cost (used). Great buy if you can find it in the used market. Your mileage might vary, but you can't go wrong with their try before you buy policy. Highly recommended.

Strengths:
sonic signature, inner detail, spacial resolution, fast, open, transparent, value

Weaknesses:
none

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
