Prior to ordering this adapter, I asked both HeadRoom and Etymotic Research whether the adapter truly did turn the 4P into a 4S, of if it was a close approximation. Both claimed that a 4P with the adapter was exactly the same as a 4S. So, I ordered it.
I've now listend to a 4P plus adapter for almost 6 months, and have had the opportunity to compare it with a 4S for a couple of those months. They were right - I can hear no differences, even subtle ones. Bravo! Strengths:
Gives the 4P's the ability to accurately reproduce sound from an amp that equals the 4S's. Weaknesses:
