from MusicDirect.com Summary: I bought this cable for use with my digital source, which is an Onkyo DX7555 CD player. The Onkyo does not have a detachable power cord, but the stock cord can be removed by opening the chassis cover and simply unplugging it from the power supply board.
Prior to using this cord, I found the Onkyo's treble was uninvolving and midrange clarity. After replacing the stock cord with the AQ NRG-1.5 there was a huge improvement that could be felt immediately.
The noise floor dropped dramatically and the treble became exciting and involving, with nice instrument tones. The midrange also became clear and overall transparency improved.
Just to be sure I was not just hearing things, I repeated my ABX testing with the stock power cord after a day and confirmed that the improvements were due to the AQ NRG-1.5. Strengths: Properly shields agains RFI. It has a ferrite noise stopper on both ends, to prevent RFI from going into the digital audio component AND to prevent any RFI dgenerated by the digital component from entering the external power suppy,
Its counter spiraled star-quad, solid core design has great noise canceling properties. Weaknesses: The C7 connecter is not polarized (i.e., there are no markings for the live and neutral). If you component requires a polarized plug, you would need to use a multi-meter to determine the live and neutral socket.
