Price Paid:  $20.00 from eBay

Summary:
This is perhaps the smoothest, most detailed and transparent budget cable I have tried. They beat everying from RadioShack, IXOS Gamma HXA 306, Acoustic Search Professional Series AP031, Acoustic Research Master Series MS231, BlueJeans Belden 1505F and M*nster Interlinks. At no end of the frequency spectrum to these cables exhibit any of the negative attributes of cheap cables like graininess, glare, bloated bass or hash.

Belkin has done it right in both design and construction. A basic sound design of double shields, twisted pair construction with low capacitance, PE dielectric and silver solder. The smoothness and transparency of these Belkin silver series, I gather, comes from the solid-core Ohno Continuous Cast copper conductors which have virtually no crystal boundaries. This is said to eliminate electronic hash which comes with crossing many grain boundaries, and I can vouch for it.

They replace my previous standard budget cables - the Acoustic Research Master series MS230 which I have also reviewed. The AR's come close in detail, but these cables are much smoother, slightly warmer and much more transparent. The soundstage is similar to the AR's but the imaging is more precise. Female vocals, drums, strings and bass guitar sound uncannily real. Only in top end extension do the AR's have these cables beat, but only slightly. There's absolutely no noise floor or hum (the AR's had a very slight hum).

In the end I feel these cables are an absolute bargain at their list price of $30. At the on-line price of under $20, they are an absolute steal!

These cables absolutely deserve all five stars!

Strengths:
Transparency, low noise floor, smoothness, detail, and good ambience retrieval. Great materials, good quality RCA plugs and quality construction. PCOCC conductors - which only cables costing 10X have.

Weaknesses:
Ambience retrieval could be improved by use of top end RCA connectors, like Eichmann Bullets, WBT NextGen or Vampire Xhadow. But then these would no longer be budget cables, would they?

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
