With such a large tweeter, it comes as no surprise that the high frequency performance suffers accordingly. So to speak, there is no "air", no sparkle around the highs that dazzle and make music worth listening to. On the flipside, though, it means that loud listening is very possible as whatever highs that are audible are non-fatiguing.

Bass performance isn't that bad, but at high volumes the port wheezes and sounds like it's rattling. Not overly pleasant to hear. Otherwise, they're surprisingly gutsy when given some welly. These enjoy liberal applications of power.

Build quality is iffy with a paper cone tweeter that's roughly 2.5" to 3" in diameter instead of the usual 1" soft or metal dome tweeter found in other designs. It's clear these are built to a price, especially evident in the lack of a crossover (it's just a cap on the tweeter and the woofer just runs full-range) and the stamped basket behind the woofer. It's also interesting to note that there's no stuffing or batting stuffed inside the cabinet. The vinyl's not gonna impress anyone, but it's not bubbling or separating from the enclosure, so it could be worse.

Considering the price paid for them, you could do worse, but you could do a whole lot better for not a whole lot more money. For example, the Paradigm Atom v.3 ran for $189 last I saw them offered here, where I bought these for around $120-ish. That's not a lot of money for a lot more speaker, is all I'm sayin'. It just leaves the value proposition to be pondered.
