Strength:

Woofer has decent bass roll off and is somewhat natural sounding. midrange and highs are defined and solid. Handles great ammounts of power. 150 watts might be a conservative range. Nice wood vener, solid cabinet constuction.

I dont consider the woofer or the tweeter to be a draw back at all.

Weakness:

Woofer could be more richer sounding. Suspention could be looser since it is a tuned port cabinet. Also I think if you didnt poly laminate the cone and keep it non-pressed would help out bass response also. I did try another paper coned woofer I had laying around in the cabinet which did have a looser suspension and non pressed paper cone and it did fit the bill. But I only have one and plus its not JBL so. No big deal. Tweeter can also be bright so I keep my EQ flat.

Bought 4 of these towers new I believe from Best Buy back when they carried JBL. I used them for 4 speaker surround sound. They are consumer based speakers from JBLs line-up. The are real wood venered light wood (although they do come in black) and a heavy construction with tuned port. Speaker is a 3 way with a 10 inch Poly laminate ribbed paper cone with foam surround which has yet to show any age at all. Also has a 4 inch poly laminated paper midrange with a cloth ribbed surround non treated and a ferro-fluid cooled 2 inch titanium tweeter. They handle 150 watts and have a response of 32-20000 Hz at 8 ohms. I might add that these have been great speakers and to this day am very happy I bought them. I use these today in my 5.1 surround sound as fronts and rears. Have yet to put to much power into them as they seem to take what ever you can throw at it.
