Summary:
My father got this Technics turntable in 1987. Model no.:SL-JS15C, DC servo automatic turntable 33-45 speed select with T4P plug-in-connector stylus. Its atylus has worned 3-4 yrs. ago. Am in India and cannot get this stylus as Technics is not in India, only National/Panasonic. The stylus I searched everywhere an d not getting it. The turntable is worthits price and running very beutiful, Imean the speed and the drive Belt. Only the stylus problem exists. Can I gat it anywhere in India at low price say till Rs.900. The service centre of Panasonic dont have this if they say to import it then this would be very costly. But, the turntable is really worth it. Still looking for the stylus.

Strengths:
Delicate cover, very light body in good condition as it was from the company, not a single part broken except sylus, T4P.

Weaknesses:
Not weak at all since 1987.

Summary:
After selling my old component system and
getting into Home Theater I figured just
being able to play CD's would be enough to
hold me over. But something inside said go
back to vinyl, try it out one more time.

My last turntable was pure garbage a model
from Pioneer Circa 1985 and it was as I
said just pure garbage. My reference of
what "Good" vinyl sounds like was limited
due to this fact. But I decided to give
Vinyl another chance, to see what I have
been depriving my ears of.

I looked at the Music Hall MMF1 and it is
a nice table but it seems a bit too simple
for me. I decided to give Technics a shot
and I went for the SL BD-22D the version
sold without the cartridge.

I ordered the BD-22D and the Audio Technica
AT133-LP Cartridge from J&R and I anxiously
awaited the arrival of these goodies. While
I waited I ordered a set of Brass Isolation
Spikes and I made a nice Mirrored Turntable
stand that sits on top of my A/V Rack.

Anyway... The SL BD-22 is one dynamite
Table I honestly can not say enough good
about it. The table it's self is solid and
anti resonant. The detatchable power and
patch cord option is superb if you care
to use good cables, most turntables rarely
come like this!

The Platter is nicely suspended and the
bearing is super smooth. The Belt drive is
also like butter. The T4P Tone Arm seems to
get the job done well (though, user adjustable
Anti-Skate and Tracking would be nice)

The P-Mount system sure makes cartridge
setup a 'snap' pun intended.. You are up
and running in a matter of seconds.

The Strobe-O-Scope is well designed and
easy to view. The FG-Servo motor keeps the
pitch right on the money even after hours
of playing.

No hokey Automatic features, the semi auto
features it does have, work without touching
the tone arm during playback.

And did I mention this thing just looks
too sweet? It's a sharp looking and a good
functioning table.. And the price is RIGHT!

Mate this table with the AT133-LP Cartridge
from Audio Technica and be prepared for
pure sonic bliss.. Hear the full frequency
spread with no fatigue...

Attractive Style, Heavy Construction, Strobe, Semi Auto Operation, T4P Tonearm, Aluminum Platter, Anti Resonant Chasis.

Weaknesses:
Anti-Skate and Tracking should be user adjustable.

Summary:
Purchased from K.A.B. through the mail' after Dual got fried on loan to friend. Hadn't listened to vinyl for several years and missed the analog sound badly so bought this with intention of upgrading.Havn't been able to upgrade to the heavier more adjustable table i'd like yet but this turntable has performed very well over the past few years. For the money I doubt you can go very far wrong with this product.And parts(belts)should be in supply for many years(need to get me a couple belts as even when i upgrade will keep this reliable little table).As others noted hinges are losing tightness and cover lets in too much dust.Strobe seems accurate, and controls are nice and smooth. Cartridge mounts easily(had a bad experience with the cartridge it came with but the Stanton I have now(L725E)is fine and swithching was peice of cake). Yeah very mightily recommended for those on a budget looking to rediscover or DISCOVER vinyl(come on kids it's way cool)

Sensitive to vibration. ground wire connection at turntable not real secure.comes with cheap interconnects,but what low price component doesn't?

It's a TECHNICS!!!

Strengths:
High quality tonearm(for it's money),p-mount(all the entry level turntables should use t4p,because anti-skate level,stylus pressure e.t.c require high quality construction and this is not possible for a cheap turntable)
Precise motor(thanks to fg servo mechanism),Very good looking,front controls,stroboscope,The included cartridge(epc-p34) sounds great.Cheap stylus replacement.

Weaknesses:
Low output level(so? turn up your amp's volume!)
