The Stanton STR8-80's were the decks I started with before stepping up to Technics. Chock full of features and sporting an attractive price and multicolor LEDs (red, green, and blue), these were the best decks I could find without paying top dollar.
But, I quickly outgrew them and unloaded them on a friend who seems quite happy to use them for a different style of mixing. Strengths:
* Decent torque compared to cheaper competitors.
* LOT of features like a wider pitch range and DSP.
* Decent build quality and very attractive to look at.
* Excellent learning tool for younger deejays Weaknesses:
* Poor sound quality! I noticed the difference immediately upon getting my Technics.
* Ultimately just not torquey or rugged enough to support a deejaying career.
* DSP was worthless. Wider pitch range will be missed tho. Similar Products Used:
Technics, plus whatever I've played around with in the store.
