Summary:
Following many years of using MC carts I became increasingly frustrated by the thinness that so often goes side by side with detail. Here at last is a MM cart which can do both detail and warmth if that is what you value. At first I thought this might be a little too soft but after about 20 hours use it really began to open up. This is a dynamic cart with fantastic bottom end slam. The bass at first sounds a little sloppy but very soon tightens right up to give the sort of rhythmic intensity needed for Rock and Jazz listening. With classics it is also great, with very detailed but not harsh treble and at no time has it made me wince the way many MCs can do unless you spend shed loads of cash. The soundstage is also superb with plenty of air around the instruments and deep enough with the right recordings to see right into the studio. This is also the ONLY cart I have ever posessed which has sailed through all of my difficult albums tracking wise to the point that what I had always accepted as pressing faults have turned out to be nothing of the sort. If you are looking for a warmish sound with great dynamics and a smooth treble then you should definitely audition this cart, I for one do not see the need to ever use anything else, especially at the price.

Marantz MA-9S2 Reference Series Power Amplifiers Review

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

A new driver from Lowther is real news. A new five inch driver is even rarer news, so it was with great anticipation that I waited on this pair of speakers to arrive.

Aune Mini Headphone DAC User Review

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.

The Aural Symphonics Chrono b2 is more a study in contrasts than most cables. Chrono b2 refers to balanced version 2.
