The MC501 amplifier offers exceptional low level detail combined with the power to handle high volumes with ease. The midrange is musical, the bass authoritative and controlled and the treble notes sweet and clear from the MC501. My previous Rotel 991 amp was good, my Parasound Halo A21 was much better, but the McIntosh MC501 is in another category with a much lower noise floor and the ability to project an immense soundstage with exceptional definition of instruments and voices. In addition, the MC501 runs much cooler than my previous amps and is built like a tank at 90+ pounds for each monoblock amp. I expect to enjoy my MC501 amps for many years.
Many McIntosh owners display a fanatic loyalty. Products like this should win many converts if they take the time to listen.
