Summary:
Class AB receiver. 4 high quality speaker posts. Allows for bi-wiring of your speakers. Allows for A, B speakers switching if you have two rooms set up. Allows for A+B bi-wired mode. Optical, Coaxial and 5 analog inputs. Allows video switching synchronized with audio.
Solid aluminum panels with no "play" in them. You could literally sit on top of that receiver. Drives hard speakers well (ATC SCM12) never hot .
Very natural and neutral sound, good bass control and extended treble. I like it a lot! Maven sound reminds me of one amp. that I heard : Ayre. That is the only other amp that I ever liked.
I listened to a lot of "broken" amps.( Krell 300, 400xi ,Musica Fidelity A3, A 300, A3,2, Audio Refinement Complete, DT, Rega Brio, Primaluna, etc) before I bout MH Maven and this receiver is hands down GOLD.

Price Paid:  $1100.00 from elusivedisc

Summary:
Bought the maven to use with an airport express and 'release' my Mac bound music. The toslink to a built in DAC coupled to a very solid amp was key for me - i hardly ever play CDs or the radio. I thoroughly recommend the maven, excellent sound, well built and more than powerful enough for me. The difference between this and depending on the PC or Mac to convert is like night and day. if you are starting to look for a way to move your music around the house then this is a very good way to go.

i submitted this review because i was puzzled how few reviews there were before i bought mine or indeed since. There was a stereophile review but it has now been removed - i recall they were very positive on the amp but a bit more reserved on the DAC.

Strengths:
Great sound
Simple
Clean design

Weaknesses:
None
