Summary:
I been using a Marantz 4300 for a short time I bought it off craigslist a month or so ago. Its one hell of a receiver I been using a Bose lifestyle and did not realize what i was missing. first off anything built 30 years ago and still working is incredible. second I haven't found a pair of speaker that can handle what this thing can dish out. Im planning on buying a large set of high-end loud speakers here soon. since i bought it we been listening to music allot more its very impressive and give off a very warm feeling to the room.

Review NaN of

Price Paid:  $220.00

Summary:
This is a review of a marantz 4300. purchased on ebay. I've been lokking for a decent 4300 for a long time and found one on ebay. it came enclosed in wood cabinet that protected it from shipping damage. the reciever survived the cabinet did'nt, I did'nt buy the 4300 for the cabinet anyway. To my suprise the unit was near mint inside and out. after replaceing what seemed to be the original dial lamps and the stereo indicator lamp, and adjusting the tuner dial pointer to land on the exact station frequency, I had a wonderful looking reciever that would make many jealous with envy. it out weighs my 2325 by several pounds and pumps out some serious sound in 2 channel mode and quite impressive sound in 4 channel mode. marantz got it right and put itself on the map ahead of everyone else when they created the 4 channel receiver's. the 4300 is a hard find in good shape and even a harder find in this condition. if your into big, sexy looking and simply put the best sound for the buck look no further. if you find a nice 4300 grab it you won't be sorry.

Strengths:
beautiful faceplate and knobs paired with sexy blue dial. sound quality, can push any speaker with no problem

Weaknesses:
tends to run hot when pushed hard, needs ample amount of ventilation.

Price Paid:  $1000.00 from Private in Sweden

Summary:
In 2002 I bought a "Never used and boxed" Marantz 4270 incl. Walnut Cabinet made year 1973-1974 (i.e 30 years old). I hooked it up with my very good Cd-spinner CD17mkIIKI and connect it to my speakers Mirage OM7.The sound was very musically and warm without being diffuse. I normally not using it because I have an another amplifier but if I compare the price 4000EURO with the 650EURO its playing music very very well. Im planning to hooked it up with my hometheater system for trying to use the 4 channels incl. the SQA-2 module. I will keep this machine for the rest of my life and It looks beutiful as well.......! Its easy to find on E-bay and not costly even for a good one.The build quality i super, separate module-poweramplifiers easy to replace or reparied if needed. I used a Marantz 2275 for 25 years and it worked perfect when I sold it and used a lot but never repared (not even noise in pot.meters). Has to be the very best build quality what so ever other brands.

Strengths:
Clearity, brilliant and warm tonallty. Powerful, hadling my speakers and sounds tight.

Weaknesses:
For the price nothing but compare to my 4000EUR amplifier the upper register >10khz is a little bit harder.

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
My grandfather bought this unit in the late 1970's-- (when I was in diapers!)
Some 27 years later, it's still going strong! The "stereo" light burned out, the AM reception is kind of weak, and the FM band has a slight screech between channels, but when you do pull in a signal or listen to a CD, this unit is STILL far beyond most of the units out there today! Hook it up to some vintage 1972 Martin speakers, and you have an authentic '70's groove machine! Right on!

Review NaN of , from kent

Summary:
since this model is 27 yrs old, i find that having any marantz(prefer better models) is well worth the keeping and using. anyhow, it dosnt matter what you have of marantz, the name has been preferred and recommend as "the bentley of home audio" for years(mostly in the 70s&80s). i find the 4270 able and much more suffecticated than what you would pay upward of $800 for now. as either one who is reading this because you either own one or are intersted in the fine marantz line, you are about to get a course of what the 4270 can do...

Strengths:
400W @ 2x70>

Weaknesses:
needs to be less awesome and maybe a another button and then i might complain but i cant for what i got for free

Similar Products Used:
none. although i have used good recievers(newer) nothing near $800, all my other stuff is on a shelf wishing they where made a MARANTZ............
