Bottom Line: Luxman Rx-101 receiver
I just got this unit at SA, and have to repair the power supply for the pre-amp section. Now that is has been repaired, I was REALLY imppressed with the sound from this little 40 watts unit from LUXMAN. Before this, I thought that after Alpine took over the Luxman brand the quality just got downhill. It was a good thing that some of the electrical engineers was able to put together a very good sounding unit, even though the build quality was not like the earlier Luxman stff. I have a few Luxman amplifiers and receivers in the house, such as the R1070 receiver, R-600 capacitor coupled receiver, and the L85V amplifier. So, I know what I am talking about when I say that this little unit was a complete surprise in terms of sound quality. If you find one that is reasonable in price, Grap it,and you will find that it is indeed a good musical sounding receiver.
