Summary:
I've owned this receiver for over three years now, and minor complaints have been few and far between. It's running with a JVC 5-disc changer, and the CompuLink feature is very, very nice. For a $180 (back then) receiver, it's quite smart. I also have it hooked up to my computer, and is the power source for computer sound, my TV card, a Playstation, and a PC DVD drive (all running through the sound card). I have two pairs of speakers hooked up forming a pseudo-surround setup, and DVD movies sound great for just stereo. I don't think you can do better for the money when it comes to pure stereo.

Summary:
I've had this receiver for just over two years now and I still like it, although I'm ready to take the plunge into home theater now. It was one of the cheapest receivers for the power produced when I bought it, and it's still pulling its weight nicely. It has a very solid output, which I use to drive two Yamaha NS-894C speakers. I have never turned it past '5', and I rarely turn it above '3' or '4'. The only time I ever get disortion is when I turn it up too much and the speaker cones over-travel, which has nothing to do with the receiver of course. The only complaints I have with this unit is that fact that it has a motor-controlled volume control, which means that you don't get a whole lot of accuracy when you're using it. I often found myself having to get up and adjust the volume 'just a little higher' or 'just a little lower' for my liking. I also would have liked a sub-out on it (I guess you can't have everything though), but I got around that by using a speaker-level to line-level converter to run my DIY home audio/car audio hybrid sub - works perfectly. I really like this receiver and it was a very good beginner receiver for me, although I do not listen to music that quality is a huge concern - hip/hop and electronic. I truely recommend this receiver if you are looking for a high-power, cheap stereo-only setup. I sure got the $200 CAN I put into it in enjoyment out if it.

Summary:
This Reciever is definitely in the low end of recievers, but after 4 years of listening to it, and recently listening to other high end recievers I am finally discovering it's potential. It is not often you can say something like that about a piece of stereo equipment purchased for 160$ but this reciever is Discrete, and has 110 Watts of RMS power willing to deliver on a moments call. I have a pair of Paradigm Mini-Monitors and a pair of Bose 601's running on a 4 ohm load with a Denon DCD-425 for my media. With this great Single disc player, and the well rounded speakers, this reciever does it's job. It does not break any records, but for the money, I would take it over any similiarly priced surround sound setup. The wattage and sounds quality are too hard to turn down for the price. Plus it has survived much abuse.
