Summary:
Overall, very dissapointed in this product. Denon is a good name and I've heard good things about Denon sound quality but this product just doesn't cut it. I purchased this product to use the Audyssey dynamic volume control to control those nasty high-volume commercials. Unfortunately, the sound in dynamic volume or multi-eq or dynamic EQ modes is absolutely terrible. It's muffled, boomy and contains no higher-midrange frequencies in the vocal ranges. Almost like a blanket is thrown over the center channel.
The setup with the microphone isn't bad, but the control system needs a manual at ones side continually, which makes it very user unfriendly. But the worse is yet to come. I've had this receiver break 3 times since I've owned it. The left channels started crackling and popping after 2 weeks. I sent it for service and after getting it back 3 weeks later, it started again after 1 weeks use as well as not providing any output from the optial input number 1. Back to service (with no better turn around time) and I reveived it back and the optical input is still broken (zero sound). Unbelievably poor service from the Mahwah NY service center. Also, I had them check out the Audyssey on the second service trip since I just can't believe it should sound that poor. When they sent it back they kept my setup microphone, and after setting it up again, it sounds no different....argh... useless.

Maybe they're higher end products are better implementations of Audyssey, but I wouldn't buy one for fear of having to use their service.

Playing a DVD sounds decent, but so does my Yamaha which has a much better control system. I purchased tihs for the Audyssey, and it's not usable. Save your money.

I'm selling tihs and buying an Onkyo.

Moscode 402Au OLT stereo power amplifier Review

George is adamant about the fact that the Moscode 402Au is not just a tube gain stage slapped onto a solid-state power amplifier; rather, it is a tube amplifier with a MOSFET output stage.

A new driver from Lowther is real news. A new five inch driver is even rarer news, so it was with great anticipation that I waited on this pair of speakers to arrive.

Aune Mini Headphone DAC User Review

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
