Bottom Line: I use this surround receiver to push a B&W 683 Home Theater setup and it just rocks. The speakers can handle much more power than what this receiver offers, but it really does a nice job of making the speakers sing nonetheless. We never turn it up past -10 which is blaringly loud but still crystal clear. Movies are usually watched at -25 so we don't piss the neighbors off, but at reference levels this receiver will rock the house indeed. The neighbors are easy-going luckily! The receiver decodes DTS-HD MA AND Dolby True HD, basically it has all you need right now. It also looks sweet too.
The Audyssey (six point measurement) makes a HUGE and noticeable improvement in the sound this receiver puts out. Movies are so much fun to watch with this receiver and music sounds excellent. As far as sound goes, absolutely no negatives to report.
The only stupid things about this receiver are:
The remote, it's pretty much just dumbly engineered.
When you turn it off with the remote, it automatically goes to midnight mode, and you manually have to change it back. Just annoying.
Definitely recommend buying this receiver, I have not regretted one second of it, and it has gotten a heck of a workout in the last nine months at my house.
