Bottom Line:
first impression of the AMC X7i is mixed: look is o.k., if very "nineties". not all buttons fit perfectly, pressure points not very defined. so at first sight, quality is average. but connect this receiver to a good source and your speakers and the picture brightens up ! sound is NOT high-end but very GOOD HI-FI ! so bass is taught, if not very deep. mids pretty detailed, while not state-of-the-art. highs come rather soft, which is much better than the opposite ! all in all, excellent sound for THIS PRICE ! i tried this AMC on high-end speakers, and what i stated before were the results .......... so the whole is very entertaining, at a silly price ! just buy it, if you can get it new under $ 400. used not recommended because of the failures mentionned above, as reliability could be doubtful. but for this sound it's a bargain !!! enjoy it.
