Strength:

Open, detailed with a wide/deep sound stage.Listening for hours without fatigue.

Weakness:

If amp sets unused for several days.I've noticed some "crunchiness"Cycling the tape select switch a couple of times cleans things up.This does not seem to have any detramental affects.BUT it is Mildly anouying.

I use this preamp to drive a pair of 100watt tube monoblocks that feed a pair of unpowered subs crossed to ICON LUMENS. After some initial break in time the preamp began to show it's openess and detail. The music is natural and relaxed. Very enjoyable.$750 Buys a great deal of PLEASURE!

Strength:

Great sound, Quality build, Built in MM phono pre and built in head phone amp.

Weakness:

No detachable power cord

Bought the kit version(not recommended for first time kit builders). Instructions are clear and concise and components are top quality. Sound is first rate with the warmth you expect from tubes. I have mine coupled to an ATI 1505 (doing double duty in a home theatre)and NORH 6.5 speakers and the sound is awesome. Built in phono MM pre and separate headphone amp are like icing on the cake. I highly recommend this unit!
