Review 1 of 1

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
Sound is wide and detailed, clear and very life like, with all instruments and with voices. The musical soundstage is perfect, also a lot of depth. The volume wheel has 0.5 db increments. It is like the music is never played loud, it's more like becoming more and more present with every turn on the volume wheel (clockwise of course). Percussion is so real that it is often scary...The R 3.0 is fully balanced with balanced in and outputs. It is not very heavy which proves that pounds and qualtiy not always go together. It matches very well with the S5000e stereo amplifier of Threshold. This pre amplifier gives a lot of value for the money and is highly recommended.

Strengths:
High value for the money
Never fatiguing also when played 'loud'

Weaknesses:
none at this price

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
