Bottom Line: This is simply a GREAT product.
I acquired a second hand one (an original pre-buy out AudioPrism Mantissa version) in 2004. I put in NOS Mullards.
This an incredible preamp beat hands-down everything else that I auditioned - and this included the classic Audio Research SP11 Mk2 and the First Music Audio passive preamp both of which are considered 'classics'.
In my system is a McIntosh MC275 (latest KT 88 spec) running Quad ESL 63s. It is very revealing of any changes further along the signal chain.
The sound of the Red Rose / Audio Prism is stunning. Amazing clarity allows you to see right into the recording of each instrument. There is a wide and deep stage in which players are all precisely positioned with amazing reproduction of timbres (e.g. you can really hear the difference between a plucked electric bass and one played with the fingers). Micro and macro dynamics are excellent.
If you get the chance, audition one straight away!
