Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $2800.00 from Dealer

Summary:
Going from the 112x preamp to the 202 is a much larger step up in quality than the price would indicate. The effect is akin to what might be expected from upgrading the power amp to one that has twice the power and costs twice as much. There were marked improvements in depth, soundstage and detail, but without a trace of harshness. The 202 is also significantly less electronic sounding than the 112x. Music seems to come from nowhere - it makes the speakers disappear. In short, it just makes the music more real and involving. How a volume control and 6 buttons accomplish this, I do not know, but it works. The 202 gives the listener a good taste of the high-end Naim at a very reasonable price and it should definitely be auditioned by those Naim users with a 112 or 112x currently in their system. The 202 must be powered by a Naim 150 or 200 amp or separate power supply, so I assume it doesn't hold much interest for those not using Naim amplifiers.

Strengths:
Enormous improvement in the overall system at a reasonable price. RCA jacks if you need them.

Weaknesses:
You tell me - looks great, sounds great, reasonably priced.

Moscode 402Au OLT stereo power amplifier Review

George is adamant about the fact that the Moscode 402Au is not just a tube gain stage slapped onto a solid-state power amplifier; rather, it is a tube amplifier with a MOSFET output stage.

Lowther’s DX-65 driver in the Teresonic Magus XR Review

A new driver from Lowther is real news. A new five inch driver is even rarer news, so it was with great anticipation that I waited on this pair of speakers to arrive.

Aune Mini Headphone DAC User Review

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
