Strength:

This is actually a review for the 917 preamp/tuner/pro logic processor... Tuner pulled in stations very well. Preamp was quieter than ever. Features galor.

Weakness:

Features galor. Pro logic was the worst I've ever heard. Late night listening control was a joke and never worked. The dimensions were a bit large for this type of product. A bit lacking in the mid-range at times.

Again, this is for the 917, not the 911. I believe the only difference is the tuner. Regardless, this unit served me well as a mere preamp and tuner for a good year until I upgraded to the 116, which blows everything else I've listened to at the price ($600 MSRP) away. Back to the 917: This has a good preamp and a great tuner in one package, albeit a bloated one. The other features such as the dolby pro-logic, tone controls, bass eq and late night listening feature don't do the preamp/tuner sections justice. For the $229 I paid (MSPR was $599), it was a steal of a deal.
