Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $10882.00 from Dealer, Taiwan

Summary:
Built in Robust case, elegant style and really eye-catching outlook.

Strengths:
Huge soundstage, vivid musical expressions, the bass was fast with authority.
24-karat plated volume knob prevents from getting oxidized.
Much better than the 5011 pre-amp.

Weaknesses:
Poor customer service of the company.
Some remote control problems happened after 3 months of purchase, the component was sent to the Germany company, and it has been more than 3 months, still not repaired. I e-mailed the company, but no response at all.
It's really a pity to have such lousy customer service at all.
Based on the condition I encoountered, mbl not recommended.

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $11562.00 from Authorized dealer in

Summary:
6010D is the Reference line pre-amp of the MBL, it sounds much better than the 5011. The soundstage was huge, well balanced and natural.
However, to my surprise, the remote control went down after 3 months usage, the machine was sent back to the dealer, the technician in MBL still could not figure out what's wrong after 3 months. I wrote to the MBL but there was no answer.
It is a pitty to have such a machine, which sound great, but poor service of the company.

Strengths:
outlook
sound stage

Weaknesses:
poor service of the company

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
