Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
I am very pleased with this tube preamp, it is of excellent build quality. Does not get to hot. Sounds wonderful with tube amp or ss amps, it makes ss amps sound much warmer. I would say it is in a different league from most preamps. It sounds very realistic and warm, voices are sensational and so are strings, bass is good to. I heard it with 3 different amps and it improved the sound of all 3. But my first choice was with the Graaf gm 20.

Strengths:
excellent build quality, beautiful sounding with good dynamics. Clean sound with no distortion. Best materials in this hand built beauty.

Weaknesses:
No remote (I hear they are releasing it soon)

Similar Products Used:
audio research, YBA, unison

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
