Price Paid:  $3000.00 from Rochester HiFi

Summary:
Upgraded from a Bryston BP25 and let me tell you, this unit simply blows it away. The bass extension is truly spectacular and if you like vocals, the midrange will blow you away. Honestly, this is an Audio Research/Conrad Johnson grade preamp selling at a third the price. Depth is extremely good, high end sweet...maybe not 100% here but close. Certainly not dry and cold which is many times a problem with high resolution equipment. Highly transparent, works great with my electrostatics (ESL63s). Doesn't cause any probs with my Krell amp and really does justice to a decent CD player. One set of balanced inputs isn't enough though. I recommend you audition this player if you are thinking of paying over £5,000 fro a pre-amp. You will be very pleasantly surprised.

Strengths:
Very strong sound, not cold....transparent and very refined. Outstanding value at this price level.

Weaknesses:
Needs at least another set of balanced inputs
