Summary:
This product is so good, it may well be my last preamplifier. The Bluebird is designed and hand-built for those who value good sound over gee-whiz features. This two-piece solid-state preamp has zero phase shift (hence the ZPS name), which in the designer's opinion is the most noticeable kind of distortion. There's almost nothing in the signal path...no tone controls, no on-off switch, not even a balance control...only a volume control. Definition, detail, timbre and dynamics are the best I've ever heard from any preamp, and I've had quite a few. Sounds like real music! It's hard to find, though...best bet is the Daniels Audio website, which is where I tracked it down after recommendations from some other like-minded friends.

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
