Bottom Line: I have used many manu preamplifiers during my 20 audiphile years. I have owned around 20 different less and much more expensive .I have owned jadis, audio research Ls3b,ls5,sp8,sp9,ls16,convergent audio technology 1,mcintosh,naim,audionote,etc...
I do not like to say that Audion Premier 2.0 iis the best of all, but for the price is a incredible easy to listen, plenty of atmosfere, and elegant preamplifier. With other I can have mora autority, even more detail, but not to much and for this very samll difference you need to pay much more money. For the best results, you need to chose a NOS tubes ,and you will noticiable big diference that standar tubes. A good improvement will be change the standard signal caps for top quality 0.47uf fimls caps like v-caps teflon, mundorf, or other top quality caps. With this only two improvements you can use side by side with 2 or 3 times preamplifiers, and probably yo will prefer this Audion preamp.
A great product.for me one of the fisrts in my favourite reference preamp list.
