Price Paid:  $0.00 from Tokyo, Japan

Summary:
This is my main pre-amplifer after Accuphase C-240. C-275V is really a "straight wire with gain" AND multiple function controls need as a control amplifier such as two tape recorders and tone-compensaters. It has wide range, balanced tone character, and base is very straight to near DC level. Organ and contrabass are wonderful. There is no change of timbre before and after this pre-amplifier, by A-B test using STAX earspeaker system. It is not so "sweat" as C-240, but match the sound of MG1.5. Most probably, I will use this model for about 20 years, as I used C-240 about 15 years without any trouble.

Strengths:
No change of timbre of the sources Extremely durable

Weaknesses:
high price

Magnepan Magneplanar MG 1.6 User Review

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
