from ebay Summary: Smooth and detailed sound. Easy to listen to for extended periods, but a bit lacking in bass control, and poor soundstaging.
I actually really like this amplifier, despite its weaknesses. I know the bass isn't very taught, and it has a slightly odd, compressed soundstage, but ultimately it is very musical and smooth to listen to, without lacking detail. The result is an amplifier that I want to listen to, with a volume control I always want to turn up rather than down.
I have tried to replace this amp, deisiring better bass control and improved soundstaging, but have found other amps (Technics SUA-900 Mk2, Denon PMA355, Denon PMA 250) harsh is comparison.
The amp is now in an extended (6 mponths) head-to-head with a Pioneer A300R Precision amplifier. I keep switching between the two, trying to decide which to put back on ebay. I feel the Pioneer is winning, but by a very small margin. Strengths: Smooth, enjoyable, and musical sound
Weaknesses: Lack of bass control
Odd soundstaging Similar Products Used: Technics SUA-600 Mk3, Technics SUA-900Mk2, Pioneer A300R precision, Denon PMA355, Denon PMA250
