Summary:
this amp was stay in my home for just 2 day befor i return it to the shop for change. it simply doesn't sound.

The AVH500 is a quality bit of kit if your only after good Hi-fi with the added bonus of a prologic amp its build quality is second to none and dynamics and sound stage are up there with the best at this price level, but TEac have just launched the all singing all dancing AGH550 receiver which knocks spots off of its predecessor I played chapter twenty of star wars the phantom menace through my denon dv1000 and the outcome was breath taking I would be surprised if this amp alone gets a bad review being as it only costs £450.00 and looks as nice as teac reference 500 It also allows you to upgrade to any desired level with pre-outs for the center, fronts and rear speakers not that it needs it!!!

Summary:
Well I have to admit, I was suprised at the audio from this little (and it is little) box. It was well constructed (kind of) and the stereo output was amazing. I drive bookshelfs and this thing rocks with the best. Clarity in stereo is a definate high point. As for dolby prologic and 6 channel input...its good when it worked. I had to send this in for repair already, but hope to get a good one back. Using 6-channel analog, DVD-A was clear and crisp. There is no bass management, but that is done using my dvd-a player...kind of anyways.
All in all, if this unit is free of repair it would get a 5-star rating, so that is what I will rate it since I dont believe quality control issues are abundent (I probably got a bad one...and will update if the replacement is bad with a zero rating) so it will recieve 5 stars...especially for the price.
