Summary:
I needed a high current amp, at a budget price, to drive a pair of Magnepan MGLR's which I got for $500 a pair as a closeout sale. My friend got me the amp at his cost, right around $500. The amp is cleaner and better built than the Proton it replaced. Powerful enough to drive the Mags, I have on occasion turned the volume all the way up, it was too loud to listen to for any extended period, but the system sounded unstrained.
