Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $200.00 from audiogon

Summary:
Very nice amplifier that can play very loud without stessing a bit. Has no trouble with any speaker I've used. Sound is quite refined for and amp in this price range. Tonality is excellent, as is overall clarity, no sign of being veiled, lots of detail and air. Amp has tremendous speed, so separation is great. Sounds like and 80 w/ch integrated. Remote works everything and the volume has an indicator led so you can see its position when dark. Let me tell you, I was shocked how close this amp comes to the ($1000) Audio Refinement Complete in many respects.

Strengths:
finesse, speed, bass, power, looks

Weaknesses:
no preouts

Review 2 of 3

Summary:
Wery good. I have it more than a year. You have to pay 2-3 times more to do better. Needs careful system matching, will "dress out" cheap CD players, but in the right setup gives a taste of high end.

Review 3 of 3

Summary:
I've lived with this small integrated amp for about 3 months now and I really can't give it enough praise.
It is rated at only 40 watts per channel. It has some problems driving low impedence speakers. So it is best if used in a small to medium sized room with sensitive speakers.

The sound quality is just amazing for a budget integrated. The soundstage is deep and wide, with plenty of detail. It never sounds harsh, even at high volume levels. MY CD player is a Marantz CD63se, and Speakers are the new Kef Q15's

Unfortunaly the HK620 and all other harman/kardon 2 channel stereo amplifiers have been discontinued in the US. But they are available in Europe.

My only complaint is that this amplifier does not have PREOUTS, otherwise it deserves five stars.

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
