Review 2 of 3 Summary: Sound. That's what the 4330SE is all about. It has simple looks, few controls, no bells, no whistles. The remote is ugly and doesn't do much (mute, vol up, vol down - that's it). Break it in, warm it up, and send the signal over good cable to relatively sensitive speakers. Immediately you're in awe. Crank up the volume and you're in heaven. No, you won't fill a cathedral with the volume. But you'll make your living room (or whatever room in the house you place this gem) fill with a richness you won't believe possible for under a grand. Not all watts are created equal, and this 50 watt amp definitely was at the front of the quality line. I've got it powering a set of Gallo Acoustics Micros: not recognized as "audiophile quality" but definitely top-notch in their intended role. The soundstage is a mile wide, and the detail is awesome. 'Nuff said.
Strengths: Sound. Simplicity. Compact size. Did I mention sound? Weaknesses: May look too simple for the "wow" factor with your friends. Similar Products Used: Harman Kardon receiver, Carver receiver, B&K preamp/Carver amp combo.
