Summary:
This amp. is a brute. I use it to drive two very large bass sections (18 inchs) in a bi-amped system. Into a 4 ohm load the amp generates 500 wpc and has never show any signs of stress, nor has it ever clipped. At the same time it has delivered bass that will shake the foundation. I have sued this amp continously for both home theater and music. I have yet to hear any amp. deliver better bass. Probly wouldn't want to use it for mids and highs, but when dealing with bass it is a monster. It can be downright scary in a home theater environment when using Dolby 5.1 or DTS. I have had people stand up and gasp when explosions, gunfire, or other deep bass sounds happen. Very powerful and controlled with stunning bass. Built bulletproof. Have never had a minutes trouble with this unit.

Strengths:
Tremendous power-I am using it to drive the bass section of a bi-amped system. The bass drivers are very heavy 18 inch units.

Weaknesses:
If not used in a cabinet the fan can be heard.

Similar Products Used:
Onkyo, Harmon Kardon,& other Yamaha amps.. Also some older Carver amps..

Magnepan Magneplanar MG 1.6 User Review

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
