Threshold STASIS 7.0 Stereo Power Amplifier

rating 5 of 5

Description: The STASIS 7.0 is a compact version of the more powerful STASIS 8.0, yet it sacrifices nothing when it comes to revelation of nuance and inner detail. While its outer appearance may suggest an obsession with solidity and power, the 7.0 shows its true sonic character in the listening room, where it is a sweet and detailed reproducer of music.

7.0 Specifications
Nominal Power Output (20Hz–20kHz)
100 Watts per channel at 8 Ohms
200 Watts per channel at 4 Ohms
Frequency Response: DC- 50kHz
Distortion: 0.02% at 1kHz, at rated output power
Voltage Gain: 28 dB
Input Impedance: 22k ohm (RCA), 600 ohm (XLR)
Input Sensitivity: 1.12V RMS for full power output
Output Impedance: less than 0.05 ohm from 20Hz–20kHz
Damping Factor: greater than 160 for 8 ohm load, 20Hz–20kHz, at 1 Watt

Review NaN of

Price Paid: $0.00 from Ensemble Audio (NH)

Summary:
Brute force Amplifier that could drive electrostats dipping into the 1ohm depths with room to spare; yet, an amplifier with such sensitivity and finesse as to capture the immense frequency extensions of Beethoven's "Ah Perfido!"

Strengths:
Incredible High Current Drive and Stable Operation; Distinguished American Build.

Weaknesses:
Puts out a lot of heat (nice for winter; physiologically taxing during summer).

Similar Products Used:
With respect to the Competition, stating simply "Ultra High-End Amplification Systems."
