Summary:
This is the only amplifier that differentiates the low end frequencies very well on my B&W Signature 805. Of course there are others but I my experience is that they are much more expensive. With this amplifier I learn to re-listen my CD collection - for low frequency information - midrange and treble. My B&W Signatures 805 have the disadvantage of being small and not giving deep bass. This amplifier makes them give just enough bass for my room size, even at low listening levels. And this is where the Threshold is perfect. At low listening level, all is there, with the volume up you never get tired. Add to this the beautiful musicality, as this is what it is all about and you have excellent value for the money, I prefer it above anything else I heard from Mark Levinson lately - Krell - topsegment of Vincent or Classé (which is by the way not a good match with B&W)

Strengths:
bass is very clear and differentiated - all is about musicality

Weaknesses:
none

Magnepan Magneplanar MG 1.6 User Review

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
