Review NaN of , from England

Price Paid:  $1100.00 from IN ENGLAND

Summary:
A VERY GOOD AMPLIFIER, WITH GOOD REFINED SOUND. IT HAS AN OPEN MID-BAND,LOW-END IS GOOD BUT NOT AS DEEP,TOP-END IS AVERAGE.
IT IS A VERY COMMUNICATING AMPLIFIER THAT NEEDS GOOD SOURCE AND SPEAKERS, FOR YOU TO APPRECIATE IT'S GOOD QUALITIES OF REPRODUCING MUSIC AT HOME. A VERY INSIGHTING AMPLIFIER, WITH BAGS OF DETAILS AND RESOLUTION.
I AM USING IT WITH AUDIOLAB 8000S,TAG CD20R,MUSICAL FIDELITY XK24 AND ITS PSU, AND MONITOR AUDIO 20SE.

Strengths:
IN SHORT,AN AMPLIFIER THAT MAKES REFINED BEAUTIFUL MUSIC.THE MUSIC IT MAKES CREEPS UP ON YOU, RATHER THAN ROMANCE YOU AT FIRST MEETING.

Weaknesses:
SOUNDSTAGE IS NOT AS DEEP AS YOU MIGHT EXPECT.BASS IS NOT AS DEEP, AND THE TOP COULD BE A BIT MORE AIRY.

Review NaN of , from Bristol, England

Price Paid:  $1000.00 from sevenoaks hifi, Bristol

Summary:
A stereo power amplifier, with 100 wpc (hence the name!). An enhanced version of the Audiolab 8000PX, created when Tag Mclaren took over the company.

The 8000PX was an excellent power amplifier, and the 100P is slightly better, with a bit more control and an improved soundstage. The amp has a great deal of clarity and insight, and is probably not for those looking for a laid-back sound.
It seems to have no problem producing the goods at high volume levels.

There semm to be very few press reviews around, as opposed to a lot of the TMA stuff.

Used with:
Audioblab 8000CDM drive
Tag AV32R preamp/processor
Living Voice Auditorium speakers

Strengths:
Good all round power amplifier, clear and detailed sound, loud not a problem.
