Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $800.00 from second hand

Summary:
Great amp, it has its price, but there is no other amp available for this price that would be better. A very good combination of a soft and hard amp. Sound is soft like a babys butt, but has tremendous amounts of power. If you want a 2000$ amp buy this one!

Strengths:
Good dynamics, handles 2ohm loads, sound is very soft an comfortable, simple/easy to use, mosfet circuit, has 16X 2200µF caps, and a 600W toroidal trafo, looks great, can be used as a mirror:) compact...

Weaknesses:
Must be placed on top of everything, runs hot(but that''s nice:)

Similar Products Used:
Can''t come to think of any...

Review 2 of 3

Summary:
I have been using this integrated for more than one year now.
The first thing one notices listening is that the Myth 5 is able, if needed, to deliver an astonishing dynamic over the full spectrum.
But only if needed: the Myth 5 can change from a brutal beast to pure softness and delicacy: basically, you get what is one the disc...
With its great neutrality, the Myth 5 is very confortable with any kind of music styles: from the softness of a string quartet or a piano solo to the most powerfull rock music, the Myth 5 keeps always the pace and the spirit of the music.

The Bass is going in the very low region and keeps been tight and articulated.
The medium and the highs are very details. Especially the highs which gives an incredible number of micro informations.
But what is really amazing, is that there is no harshness, no listenning fatigue at all.
When A/B comparing this amp. with others, if I have to qualify the sound coming from this amp., I would say that it has a lot of class: punchy, tight and very transparent but, at the same time, soft whith natural timbers.

The picture drown by the Myth 5 is wide and deep and really sharp. Once listening to a symphony, you have the feeling of been at the theater facing the orchestra.
This feeling is also due to the fact that the sound never comes in your face but always stays behind the speakers which gives you the feeling you are facing the players.

Chery on the cake, this integrated is able to deliver a huge amont of current and can drive close to every speaker.
I have been able to listen to it with different speakers and I have never felt any fuzzyness: it is as if the boomer was grasped by an iron hand.

To conclude, I will say that this integrated from a small Dutch compagny does have a lot of qualities and can easely compete with amp costing twice its price.
Should definitively be in the short list for a $2000 to $3000 integrated quest.

Strengths:
great dynamic, very neutral over the whole bandwith

Weaknesses:
musicaly: none. practically: this amp. is running hot so the box needs some space to breath.

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
