from Framingham MA Summary: Paired the 1092 amp with the Rotel RC-1082.
When I first hooked this amplifier to my F30s, I was somewhat taken back by the lack of life. Although I am not a believer in "break in" periods for electronics, this amp just may have changed my mind. After about 2 weeks of listening, the amp appeared to open up significantly. I enjoy my music loud, dynamic, and clean. This amp paired up with the F30s offered me all of the above. Bass was deep and tight, midrange and treble had a bit more grain (slightly less smooth) compared to the RB-1080 it replaced. I found myself in awe with the dynamics. The F30s are hard to drive loud, but this little amplifier did a better job than any amplifier I tried previously. Overall I am pleased.
Strengths: Dynamics. Deep controlled bass. Size and weight. Overall power. Clean sound. Weaknesses: Slight grain (at least in it's very early life) in midrange and treble, e.g., female vocals could be a little smoother. During high output, the amp shut down after 5 minutes (volume control at 12:00 position) with F30s, admittedly with very demanding music and high sound pressure levels. Similar Products Used: Other Rotel amplifiers. Hafler 220 for many years. NAD M3 Master Series integrated. NAD C262.
