Price Paid:  $799.00 from Outlaw Audio

Summary:
I bought this amp with intention of replacing a quirky Parasound Halo A52 (be cautious when buying electronics from Ebay). I ordered a Model 990 a few weeks earlier, and was able to get the $200.00 package discount. As with my Model 990 preamp, it was delivered in a sturdy double box. Build quality was very good, and the amp had a good heft to it. The power button on the front panel seemed a little flimsy, though. After hooking it up and allowing a break in period, I began seriously listening to it. The amp was clean sounding, and the soundstage was OK. However, it did not have the soundstage and musical detail that my Parasound had. Still, the amp sounded unbelievably good for the amount I paid for it. However, after much debate, I ended up returning the amp. It just did not have the musical presence that the Parasound had. My Parasound was using a PS Audio power cable. I think if the Outlaw amp had a provision for a detachable power cable, the differences would have been even slighter than they already were. Overall, the 7125's performance was quite good when compared to an amp that retails for twice as much. ($2000.00 for the Parasound A52, $1000 for the 7125). Outlaw Audio has a wonderful 30 day money back gurantee, allowing you to demo the equipment and return it if you are not happy. Customer service is top notch. For the cost of a high end receiver, you could buy an Outlaw 990 preamp and 7125 amplifier, and have a system that will totally smoke any receiver at the same price point. Keep up the good work Outlaw Audio.

Strengths:
Exceptional performance at a budget price, Made In USA, build quality, 5 yr transferable warranty

Weaknesses:
Lack of a detachable power cord (at this price point, some concessions have to be made)

Similar Products Used:
Parasound A52 (twice the retail price)

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $799.00 from Outlaw Audio

Summary:
I received my 7125 a couple of weeks ago, and have been truly enjoying it ever since! I bought it along with the 990 and 2 LFM-1s (although my current room is too small to really let me use both LFM-1s, so I am only using one, and I still have to back it off!). I also bought a Paradigm Reference Studio system consisting of 2 Studio 100 towers, the CC 570, and 4 ADP 470s (don't have the ADP 470s hooked up yet, as I am still in a rental while we are building our new home). Anyway, the sound is stunning, and the Paradigms are known for long break in periods--can't wait to hear them after they have been fully broken in! The 990 and 7125 combo sounds great, and supplies plenty of power, even to power hungry speakers like the Studio 100s. Depth, clarity, soundstage, everything is beyond anything I have ever heard in a home system. I am rediscovering my CD and DVD collections and am noticing things I never noticed before. Subtle sounds and details I never knew existed, and slamming, wall shaking bass I had barely heard before, let alone feel. I am impressed. Quite frankly, I have heard home systems far more expensive that don't offer this level of sound quality, and while I know there are better sounding systems out there, aside from other Outlaw products (like the 770) I simply can't imagine a significant difference without spending ridiculous amounts of money on your equipment. I have nothing but positive things to say about Outlaw, and I will strongly recommend all their products to my friends. Thanks to Outlaw for delivering such outstanding performance for such outstanding prices!

Strengths:
Price, Power, Clarity, Soundstage, Absolutely Clean

Weaknesses:
None
